Arulnidhi’s ‘Udhayan’ ready for dawn!

We saw him debut as a calm village guy in ‘Vamsam.’ Though there were scenes which revealed that Arulnidhi was new to face the camera nonetheless he made a lasting impression in the minds of the viewers. ‘Udhayan’ is directed by Chaplin who has worked as the associate for director Dharani and ‘Vamsam’ fame Pandiaraj.

The music of this film is being taken care of by Manikanth Kadri who is the son of Kadri Gopalnath, the renowned saxophonist. The music CD of this film has six songs in all which is inclusive of the title song. Manikanth has roped in Sruthi Hassan for a song. This number is a western sounding number and the voice of Shruthi fits it like a T.

There is an item number in the film which involves the voices of Baba Sehgal and Suchitra. None of us can forget the “Kadhal Vandhale…” song from ‘Singam’.

Karthick has lent his voice to many hit numbers; most of his songs have a haunting element in them, has sung a soft melodious number in ‘Udhayam.’ Then there is a typical village number. “Laka Laka…” has been crooned by Prasanna and Darshana. “Kavingar” Vaali and Surya who has worked as an assistant with Karu Palaniappan have brought life to songs set to tunes by Manikanth Kadri.

Sources close to the film reveal that the music disc will be released by the last week of May. A source close to the unit has also revealed that the first three songs of the album will set the charts rocking in Tamil!
